An Open Letter From A Parent

I received this email from a parent today:

Hey Laura,

THANK YOU!!!!   Austin had a fabulous time, he still talks about your visit and you can tell how impressed he is about the girls being storywriters and authors.  Which is super wonderful to me because he is the type to tell a story, it's like pulling teeth to get him to write anything.  Austin has been a little more eager to write since your visit, which leaves me with more hair on my head (and his for that matter)! I will be sending in a book order today.

Also, I went on your website. You're doing a great job Laura, please continue to inspire the kids of today!

Thanks again,
D

This is what makes it all worthwhile and I think this is a great message for educators all over the world.  The names are changed to protect the privacy of this student and his Mom but you get the drift. What you are doing today is worthwhile, what your teaching is changing the world.

It’s the end of the year and if your energy is flagging this message is for you.  Don’t give up! Your students need you and you’re closer than you think.
